Job Title: Research Manager
Location: Lagos
Job Responsibilities
- Provide adequate leadership to the MSAs to achieve their target in the first two years of their career with LBS
- Provide supervision, guidance and support to direct reports
- Manage the performance of Research Assistants.
- Evidence of scholarship in research. Must have published at least 5 papers in a peer review journal.
- Identify prospective funding sources, new funding initiatives and support for current research projects.
- Manage application for external research grant including proposal development, budgeting, completion of proposal forms, progress report submission, expenditure reconciliation, research compliance requirements, subcontracts, renewals, exit and sponsors term and conditions.
- Liaising with funding bodies on their procedures, regulations, terms and condition to ensure these are adhered to in a timely and accurate manner.
Others:
- Maintain liaison and effective communication and build beneficial relationship with individuals and organizations at various levels across the research community.
- Provide technical support to the Research Director in strategic planning and implementation of policies and procedures to promote research activities in the faculty.
- Identify prospective participants and coordinate development of faculty interdisciplinary research teams and proposals.
- Develop and facilitate workshops, meetings or conferences that enhance research funding opportunities and profile.
- Prepare substantive administrative reports and documents. Manage varying voluminous caseload of complex assignments and projects from multiple sponsors requiring deadlines and timely submissions.
- Represent the unit in committees and relevant university meetings.
- Oversee that institutions research outputs and academic publications are on the university website, ensuring accuracy and quality.
- Any other specific or ad hoc duty to be assigned by line manager from time to time.

- Rate of rejection of research proposals based on non-adherence to donor criteria.

Qualifications and Requirements
- Candidates must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences.
- Having a Master’s Degree is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years in administrative position with at least 3 years in supervisory level.
- Experience gained in Higher Education or reputable organization with interest in funding research projects will be an advantage.

Job Title: Video Editor / Graphics Designer
Location: Lagos
Job Responsibilities
- Design and produce brochures and flyers from content provided by the market facing departments.
- Design ATL, BTL and digital creative materials as requested by various departments.
- Conceptualize and run the end-to-end process of video recordings for brand promotion and record keeping purposes (testimonials, programme overviews, event coverage, documentaries etc.)
- Conceptualize and manage production of non-conventional video material (animated videos etc.)
- Liaise with printers, photographers, videographers, advertising agencies and other vendors to obtain costs, prepare payments and receive finished work as required.
- Manage all APCON related activities
- Keep up-to-date record of work produced in the department (photos, videos, brochures, designs etc.)
- Serve as quality controller for brand collaterals and branded items
- Liaison with all internal and external parties on branding requirements for events and/or communication materials.

Qualifications and Requirements
- Candidates must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree / HND in design; or a combination of any other degree and certificate courses in creative design.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience in creative development and designs.
Competencies
- Must be adept at using graphics and design software such as Corel Draw, Photoshop, Illustrator etc.
- Must be familiar with video recording equipment and editing software, and have experience in video production; recording, editing, shot angles, etc.
- Must be able to communicate ideas visually and through motion pictures.

Job Title: Post-Doctoral Researcher
Location: Lagos
Job Description
- This position reports to the Director of the LBS Public Sector Initiative and entails undertaking analysis and research independently and within a team approach in a fast-moving and changing environment, often involving multiple stakeholders.
- The position will involve working at the School’s research departments and knowledge centres. Presentation and communication of research and research results to a variety of audiences and in different venues is also involved (i.e. presentations at conferences, workshops, team meetings as well as in various written publications). Peak times will occur near deadlines for reporting analysis and results to project stakeholders.
- This position involves coordination with multiple stakeholders, survey and interview administration, data compilation and analysis of population data and policies related to public-private sector partnerships, sustainable and inclusive economic development especially in Nigeria.
- Critically, this position will require good understanding of business, management, social/economic policies, and the workings of the public sector. This individual will primarily be engaged in research projects aligned with the public sector- ministries, organizations, state-owned firms, working collaboratively within a team of academics and industry stakeholders.
- This individual will also be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of research assistants and therefore require strong skills in communication, organization, people management, and leadership.
Job Responsibilities
- Development of research projects, review of the relevant literature, data gathering, application of appropriate theory and empirical analysis, development and assessment of results, development of policy implications and recommendations, and the writing and presentation of reports and other study products to stakeholders
- Presentation and publication of high-quality policy papers.
- Apply analysis involving anything from simple data regression models up to and including advanced econometric analytics, as well as graphic representation of conclusions and results.
- Undertake a careful and insightful evaluation and interpretation of all analytical results. The candidate will assess and interpret results in the context of existing literature and policy recommendations
- Organize time effectively so that research results are produced by set deadlines that support overall project timelines
- Provide an evaluation of all policy implications of the results and develop carefully considered recommendations for practical and effective policy responses based on data analysis
- Engage in stakeholder consultation and partner development meetings to guide analysis
- Regularly updates project team on data collection and analysis, as well as prepare and present reports of results using excellent technical writing skills
- Engage with project and research teams and external research collaborators to ensure consistency and organization within research projects, as well as to build and sustain research momentum.

Qualifications and Requirements
- Candidates must have a PhD qualification in Economics, Public Policy, Business Management.
- Minimum of 3 years postdoctoral research experience
- Related work experience in public policy, advocacy and/or consulting.

- Knowledge of state and federal economic policies and programs in Nigeria.

Job Responsibilities
- Carry out research with faculty (source for and gather data, review literature, analyze data, etc.).
- Conduct preliminary studies and other fact finding assignments to facilitate research activities.
- Write up, read up, and review research constantly
- Seek out industry contacts for technical data and cases studies.
- Liaise with industry managers for business data verification.
- Interview firms to extract information for case studies, books, etc.
- Develop and present complex reports on assigned tasks.
- Develop self to enhance professional growth and quality of work.
- Any other relevant responsibility assigned by faculty and line manager from time to time.
