Joecrack concept reporters has gathered that the Lebanese Embassy has announced the suspension of working visas to Nigeria.
This decision was made after the the Lebanese government rescued 69 workers out of 79 who were facing some form of maltreatment at their work place.
The Lebanese embassy disclosed in a statement signed by Abdur-Rahman Balogun,Head,Media and public relations Unit,NIDCOM Abuja that the suspension of Working Visas was Brought about as a result of the video of one Peace Bausari ,A Nigeria Lady ,Auctioned by a non-labenese person on social media.
The statement Reads: “Sequel to the influx of some Nigerians to Lebanon to work,Amb.Houssam Diab,the Lebanese Ambassador to Nigeria announced that the Embassy has suspended issuing working Visas to Nigerainas Seeking Domestic Work in Lebanon”
He further told Chairman of NIDCOM ,Hon.Abike Dabiri-Erewa in Abuja that the mission had Suspended the issuance since May 1st.
To add,he said: “The Lebanese government in conjunction with the Lebanese community in Nigeria returned 69 put of 79 Nigerians allegly stranded and abusedbby their bosses back home.”
He said the Nigerian returnees were not trafficked nor did they go to Lebanon illegally BT they were abused by their employers who also breached the working agreement in the country and did not have enough fund to bring them back.
He added that some Nigerians refused to come back but opted for a change of place of work.
