On Thursday, Professor Wole Soyinka disclosed that he did not believe that President Muhammadu Buhari or anybody was in charge of Aso Rock.
This he stated during an interview on PlusTv Africa, maintaining that decentralization remained the solution to the nation’s problem.
Umar Dangiwa, a retired colonel and former military administrator of Kaduna, had a letter to addressed to Buhari of which Wole Soyinka reacted to.
Buhari was accused of making lopsided appointments by Umar, alleging that the president had a knack for appointing people from his section of the country into office.
Professor Soyinka said that he was appalled by the silence that followed the revelation by Umar, that those who are responsible for this criminal lopsidedness should be punished as it not satisfactory just to discuss it. It’s criminal.
He noted that he had talked about this before saying he doesn’t think that anybody is in charge of Aso Rock. He added that his conclusion is a result of his study of what has been happening in recent years concluding that the president is not in charge of this nation.
He however warned that it is so serious, as he reminds us that we know the history of this and it is not about the fact alone.
The professor said that we know what it has caused the nation adding that it is not over yet, “This man is not in charge.”
