Aminu Masari, Katsina State Governor has reportedly directed workers in the state’s civil service to resume work next week Monday, July 8.
This directive to resume work was contained in a statement signed by permanent secretary, administration, Lawal Ado, on behalf of the Head of Service of the state, Idris Tune.
Workers at both state and 34 Local Government Areas are to resume normal working hours on the said date.
Currently, the state has 371 laboratory-confirmed cases, with 244 patients on admission, while 108 cases have so far been discharged while 18 victims have lost their lives to the virus.
In April, the state government had ordered workers to resume work but had to reverse the instruction due to reported cases of the virus in some council areas of the state.
The statement, however, said heads of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) should enforce guidelines and or protocols that would check the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) among workers.
According to the statements, guidelines to follow include the provision of handwashing facilities and sanitizers, enforcing the mandatory wearing of facemasks by workers, as well as compliance with physical and social distancing practice.
