It has been reported that at least four persons have been abducted in an ambush by suspected Boko Haram insurgents, which was laid along the Monguno Road in Borno State on Tuesday.
About 40 kilometers from Monguno Local Government Area, a camp manager working with the Borno State Emergency Management Agency, two aid workers and a soldier were abducted by the attackers, who had mounted a checkpoint before Gasarwa Village.
A source revealed that the Boko Haram militants had gun trucks with anti-aircraft guns. They were well-kitted in military camouflage as they took away a soldier and three other people along Monguno/Maiduguri highway around 11 am on Tuesday.
Boko Haram insurgents have continued their attacks in the North-East despite the efforts of security operatives.
This was after Coordinator of Defence Media Operation, Maj-Gen. John Enenche disclosed that troops of Operation Lafiya Dole killed three Boko Haram commanders and 67 other fighters during counter-attacks in the Firgi/Banki axis of Borno State.
