Recently in Toronto the capital of the province of Ontario, gunfire was reported by the police of which notable person fell victim to.
Dimarjio Jenkins, 21 grew up near Jane Street and Driftwood Avenue but more recently moved to Brampton with his family. He is popularly referred to as Houdini.
Dimarjio Jenkins, 21 was allegedly reported to have been shot dead around king Street Weston Tuesday Afternoon. Several persons were injured during the shooting, a 15-year-old boy and a 27-year-old woman.
This attack was characterized by the police as a targeted attack as such the Toronto police homicide team is investigating the shooting.
The man killed in a daylight shooting in Toronto’s entertainment district has been identified by police and on social media as the up-and-coming rapper Houdini.
The News of Jenkins’s death was a shock to many as tributes flowed from prominent musicians (Tory Lanez and Meek Mill).
Jenkins is a rising star in Toronto’s rap scene as songs were streamed nearly 20 million times on Spotify, 2019.
It is said that a blue vehicle was seen waiting at the scene, 40 minutes before Houdini arrived in another vehicle. The Police also said that the occupant in the said blue vehicle chased down Jenkins and the 15-year-old boy while shooting at them.
Mark Saunders, the Toronto police chief described the killing as “very solvable,” attributing it to the busy area in which it happened.
Police recovered a gun at the scene. Nobody was arrested and no suspect has been announced.
Within the last two years, several Toronto rappers have been killed.
“The bottom line is, there’s a lot of evidence that we have gleaned so far, we are getting more evidence,” Saunders said on Tuesday.
This calls for more carefulness and paying more attention to where we go and what we do outside our homes because the world is becoming more unsafe.
His latest project, titled UNDERGROUND, was released on March 18.
