JAMB Gives update on the Cut-off mark for 2019/2020 Admission
The JAMB officials have approved cut-off marks for 2019/2020 admission into tertiary institutions in the country.
The officials made this known to the public during the 19th policy meeting on admissions to tertiary institutions in Nigeria on 11th of June, 2019 in Gbongan, Osun, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.
the minimum cut-off for public universities is 160 and 140 for private universities.
The policy meeting, which was presided by Prof. Isaq Oloyede, JAMB registrar, also approved 120 cut-off marks for public polytechnics and 110 for private polytechnics for admission seekers and for colleges of education, 100 and above was approved as the cut-off marks.
The vice chancellors of universities, rectors of polytechnics and provosts of colleges of education were all present in the policy meeting. Also, JAMB approved 19th of December, 2019 for close of admission into public universities and 15th of February, 2020 for private universities.
Joel Ojo, director of tertiary institutions, Federal Ministry of Education, who represented minister of education, mention in his statement that the outcome of the recent investigation of the UTME registration of candidates carried out by the JAMB Admissions was a pointer that the examination industry requires a review.
Ojo concluded that JAMB Policy Meeting remains the acceptable forum where plans and programmes for admissions are discussed.
