Innocent Idibia popularly known as “2Face’’ inaugurated “Vote Not Fight, Election No Be War” campaign on Thursday to promote peaceful governorship election in Anambra state on Nov. 18.
This campaign is a result of the collaboration of 2Face Idibia Foundation, Youngstars Development Initiative (YDI) and Youth Initiative for Advocacy, Growth and Advancement (YIAGA).
The collaboration also involved Centre for Ethics and Youth Development (CEYD), Gender Perspective and Social Development Centre (GPSDC) and Integrity Youth Development Initiative (IYDI).
Idibia laid more emphasis on the fact that everybody needs to work together in order to prevent unnecessary loss of lives before, during and after the election. He said that even if Biafra is granted today, we still need peace for elections to hold. We have to go out, show maturity and vote responsibly.
Vote Not Fight” Campaign Group, also said that Young people are key to nationhood and until they are led on the right path, they may continue to deviate.

Idibia told political parties and candidates to make use of established legal avenues if they had concerns about the election. He also urged traditional and religious rulers, elder statesmen, and youth and women groups to join the campaign against violent election.
Mr.Kingsley Bangwell of Yougstars Foundation, disclosed that some Anambra-based youth groups had been trained on non-violent election advocacy and voter education skills to ensure effective campaigns.
Aslo Kingsley Bangwell said that the youth acquired training on advocacy skills to enable them organise their communities for peaceful participation in the governorship election.
Mr Mathias Ameke, chairman of the Peoples Progressive Alliance (PPA) commended Idibia for trying to promote peaceful elections, and urged on politicians to obey the rule of law.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the artiste and the campaign team had earlier got some governorship candidates, including Mr Oseloka Obaze of PDP and Gov. Willie Obiano of APGA, to endorse the campaign.
