Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB today has given update on the new date for Universities, Colleges of Education and Polytechnics admission and Post UTME screening exercise, by fixing date that will not clash with WAEC, NECO, GCE and NABTEB examinations for 2020 O’level candidates.
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB has asked all higher institutions’ 2020 Post UTME Screening/Exam and admission process to commence from September 7, 2020.
JAMB also warns and advise all candidates with O’level to upload their results to jamb caps portal for admission to be confirmed before the 2020 WAEC, NECO, GCE and NABTEB result will be out – CLICK HERE TO UPLOAD YOUR OLEVEL RESULT
The reason for the change of date from August 21, 2020 to September 7, 2020 is to accommodate candidates of Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE).
This was disclosed to the general public after a meeting on Monday between Ishaq Oloyede, the Registrar, and Vice Chancellors, Rectors, and Provosts of tertiary institutions.
The board said, “Presently as you are aware, WAEC starts the Senior School Certificate Examination on Aug. 17, it will go on till Sept. 7. Similarly, on Sept. 2 or thereabout, NABTEB will commence its own examination that will go on till Oct. 15, and immediately after that, NECO starts from the 5th to Nov.18.
Oloyede added that institutions whose post-UTME screening was mandatory for candidates would have to spread such exercise in two phases.
“For those institutions who want to take post-UTME, that cannot be earlier than the 7th of September and it will be held twice – from 7th September to 4th of October, and then it will be held for the second time on the 18th of November to mop up those who are taking their school certificate examination,” he said.
This indicates that there is indeed hope for candidates, I mean those who are yet to obtain SSCE (O’level) certificate.
If you are yet to register for Post UTME; do it now as so many schools have started their registration already.
