The Innovations department are on a dream to build a Commercial Innovation Machine, whose role will be the key driver to fulfilling this dream, making sure that we are stable in the approach and tools to begin & maintain world class innovation.
The role needs great commercial leadership skills, strong influencing skills, flexibility, and ability to move skillfully between policy and implementation and above all, motivated, practical personalities with capability to lead disturbance through the business in a structured and constructive manner.
Purpose of the role
Drive sales through winning customer schemes, tactical planning and brilliant implementation to deliver sustainable competitive advantage for Guinness Nigeria by:
Faultless Execution: Administer and execute the commercial calendar and plan all activity ensuring are efficient promotions and a winning mix of brand & category activity to drive trade performance.
Lead the business in the yearly planning process and support Head of CP&A in making clear the cascade metrics.
Understand data and lead imminent generation as basis for decision making from corner to corner of the trade.
Compel understanding of lift features connected with actions across the business.
Be responsible for the administration of trade ventures across the Channel.
Winning by  means of excellent execution.

Complexity
The Nigerian market has shown intrinsic instability over the years which is expected to continue into the medium term. Managing market volatility and the uncertainty that drives in activity planning, budget setting and activity supervision is an inherent part of the complication in this role.

Top Accountabilities

  1. Innovation Pipeline Management

Lead the implementation of the pipeline to convey it on time, ensuring launches fit within the overall precedence and the wider commercial calendar of the trade.

  1. In Market Commercial Leadership

Recognize innovations that need new (Route to Consumer) RTC or important changes to the current RTC and lead the business to set-up the begin RTC for launch.
Restructure the obtainable Sales force inducement plan to include reward based on delivering Innovation KPI’s.

  1. Project Commercial Leadership

Be the main commercial lead, driving alliance between the innovation/marketing team and commercial teams.

  1. Innovation Performance Management and Intervention

Manipulate the sales organisation to guarantee the involvements are prioritised and implemented.
Drive regular commercial M&E across all launches making certain clear communication and learning’s sharing across the trade.

  1. Lead Commercial strategy and Standards

Own the development/flow and embedding of the Trade and Category tactics
Develop important business/execution policies and standards
Own the growth and administration (cycle planning) of the year’s activity calendar (one plan)
Lead the use and analytics for all commercial systems.
Own Trade Asset management (POS,Fridges and other trade assets)
Use customer approaches/grouping insights/customer insight to develop radiant customer/consumer/Category Mechanizing standards.
Qualifications and Experience

  1. Bachelor’s Degree (business related course of study is an advantage).
  2. An excellent track record of business distribution.
  3. Minimum of 8 years working experience in business with at least 3years in a leadership role. (Field Sales experience is compulsory).
  4. Commercially of good judgment, strong understanding of customers, category, shoppers & channels.
  5. Great relationship management, senior stakeholder influence and interpersonal skills
  6. Strong analytical capabilities
  7. Self-starter in the midst of high levels of energy & dedication
