We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Finance Assistant

Location: Abuja
Employment Type: Contract
Type of Contract: 6 months Fixed Term Renewable

Roles/Responsibilities

  • Execute administratively and finance-related tasks and follow up on accountancy to support the Finance Manager in following MSF standards and procedures, in order to ensure legal compliance and keep strict control over monetary resources to achieve project objectives
  • Implementing cash management procedures in order to ensure the highest control and security, assisting the Project Fin Manager in the provision of monthly treasury and planning in order to ensure the coverage of daily needs, advances on salaries, payroll, etc.
  • Implement cash management procedures in order to ensure the highest control and security, and ensure cash availability
  • Carry out all accounting tasks and activities in order to ensure strict control of all expenditures and the reliability of statements and documentation.
  • Classify and prepare all accounting pieces as requested by the Administration Manager.
  • File the accounting documents and enter the accounting pieces in the accounting software, with support from the Administration Manager and/or the Accounting Manager (ACMA).
  • Update and maintenance of accounting database, archiving folders
  • Retrieve all documents as needed upon request and support the Finance coordinator and ACMA during audits.
  • Update and maintenance of mission contract file both in hard copy and file follow up
  • Assist the Finance Coordinator in the provision of monthly treasury and planning in order to ensure the coverage of daily needs, advances on salaries, payroll, etc.
  • Process the payment to suppliers and keep strict on all documentation involved, informing the administration manager of any sort of disparity.
  • Any other administrative task delegated by the Project Finance Manager.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Desirable: Finance, Business, or Administration related Diploma
  • Essential computer literacy (word, excel, and internet).
  • Commitment, Flexibility, Stress Management, Results, Teamwork, and Service.
  • Essential previous working experience of at least two (2) years in relevant jobs
  • Desirable experience in MSF or other NGOs
