Former Chairman of Conference of Nigeria Political Party (CNPP), Bayelsa State, Comrade Oribo Einstein, has described the recent allegation of fake employment letters in the state Civil Service as evidence of a failed Dickson’s past administration.

Recall that the state government through the Chairman of Bayelsa State Civil Service Commission, Dr. Peter Singabele, disclosed this on Wednesday after receiving the report of the Committee on Verification of Appointment Letters.

The state government said it uncovered about seven hundred and eighteen fake appointment letters used for employment into the State Civil Service, allegedly aided by some officials of the Civil Service Commission and the State Treasury during the last administration.

Einstein, in an exclusive interview with DAILY POST on Thursday, alleged that after the last administration of former Governor Seriake Dickson wasted eight years doing rigorous certificate and biometrics verification such criminal activities were done to heap debts on his successor.

“The last administration was unanimously adjudged a failed government so we don’t expect less, how can a government after losing in an election to impose his successor employ over 1000 civil servants into the system when he claimed to be cutting the cost of governance. One thousand was announced publicly while we are also aware that some were done in secret”

“We are also aware of the number of qualified and unqualified permanent Secretaries that were added to the system at that crucial time of exit, what Bayelsans want to know is the ministries and the permanent Secretaries that are involved in this fraud”

He further questioned the silence of the current administration under Gov. Diri on the empty treasury he inherited from his predecessor, after receiving billions of Naira weeks before he left.

Saying that the current administration should not subjugate or force Bayelsans into another round of sufferings like the past administration where people were living in abject poverty and hunger; a government where disunity and survival was the order of the day.

”The government knows who the syndicates are, they know who the policymakers and head of administration. This was a plot to witch hunt David Lyon as they thought he will be governor after the election, they decided to increase the wage bill by employing people into the service so that he will suffer the spoil. We are aware of the empty treasury inherited by this government and it has not been made public”.
