There is light at tte end of tunnel as the World Health Organisation has approved a drug for the treatment of Covid-19. Recall that since the outbreak of the Pandemic in Wuhan China late 2019,scientists all over the world have been researching on a possible cure or vaccine to prevent the spread of the virus. Following the announcement by the United Kingdom government that a common steroid, Dexamethasone has been confirmed to be effective for the treatment of Covid-19, the World Health Organisation has ordered for the mass production and distribution of the drug.
According to the Director of World Health Organisation, Dexamethasone is a cheap and common drug with numerous producers across the glob. This to him, will aid the bulk production and distribution of the drug across the world. Following the news of this breakthrough, the BBC reported that Dexamethasone has been approved by World Health Organisation for the treatment of Covid-19, making it the first officially WHO approved drug for the treatment of the virus.
