Real Madrid Captain, Sergio Ramos has been having a good career in Madrid, scoring some major goals for Los Blancos and he scored his 118th career goals against Eibar last week.
During their last match against Real sociedad, Ramos open the scoring in a 2-1 win over Real Sociedad which move Madrid to the top of the La Liga Table.
The goal was his 68th in La Liga top flight and means he topped former Barcelona defender Ronald Koeman as the league’s highest scoring defender of all time.
Ramos scored just two goals in his first two seasons in La Liga when he was playing for Sevilla, before his was transferred to the Madrid capital in 2006.
Since joining the Spanish giants, he has scored 66 goals in 15 seasons for the Real Madrid, and he has played a major role since the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo as he became the penalty taker of Los Blancos.
Ramos goal against Real Sociedad from the penalty spot was his fourth penalty of the season in the league and he has only missed once out of 17 attempts from 12 yards out in entire career in the Spanish capital.
After Barcelona’s 0-0 draw with Sevilla, Real knew they would go top with a win against Sociedad due to their better head-to-head record against rivals Barca.
Ramos gave them the lead after 50 minutes before Karim Benzema added a second 20 minutes later to all but wrap up the three points.
Mikel Merino pulled one back for the hosts with just seven minutes of normal time to go but Zidane’s side held on to win 2-1 and take top spot.
A collison with Real Sociedad striker Alexander Isak resulted in Ramos going off injured and being replaced by Eder
Hopefully the 34-year-old can get back playing before the end of the league season and beat his own goal scoring record for a season, which currently stands at the seven he’s got so far this season.
