The Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 (PTF) has revealed that 60 percent of the Coronavirus cases within the country were recorded in 20 government areas.
The Chairman of Presidential Taskforce and Secretary to the govt of the Federation, Mr Mustapha disclosed this while a donation was been made for Private Protective Equipment (PPE) worth N10 million from Rotary District 9125.
Mustapha who was represented by the Permanent Secretary (General Services Office), Olusegun Adekunle, listed the government areas as follows; Mainland, Abuja Municipal, Mushin, Eti-Osa, Tarauni, Katsina, Alimosho, Maiduguri, Kosofe, Dutse, Ikeja, kwara, Nassarawa, Oshodi/Isolo, Apapa, Amuwo Odofin, Oredo, Bauchi, Lagos Island, Surulere and Ado Odo/Ota.
He blamed the increased cases of Coronavirus recorded within the country on poor compliance with health guidelines. \
Mustapha said; “We want to enlighten Nigerians on the risks of this development. We ask Rotary to help us in taking the notice further.
“The danger management team is usually available to share strategy with the organisation.”
“The damages done by the COVID-19 pandemic has been there for everybody to ascertain , including that on governance and thus the economy.:
“It is for us to strategise plans for a replacement way of life. an honest number of staff haven’t been at work for the past four months. The impact of this on the economy is extremely easily seen.”
“The death rate is sort of high. We keep telling Nigerians that each one these aren’t just numbers, but brothers, sisters and colleagues that have passed on from the pandemic.”
