There has recently being some speculations in the governorship election of 2020 due to the disqualification of Governor Obaseki by his party, APC.
This was because of the disagreement he has with the Party National Chairman and former Governorship of Edo State, Comrade Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole.
The current Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki had a meeting with the President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari. After the meeting, Obaseki finally decided to resign from the All Progressives Congress, APC as a member of the Party.
This was disclosed by Governor Obaseki when giving a statement based on the outcome of the meeting he had with the president.
Governor Obaseki of Edo State was previously disqualified from contesting for his party primaries which was scheduled to take place on June 22, ahead of the 2020 Edo Governorship Election.
The Party’s screening committee disqualified Obaseki over difference in his HSC and NYSC certificates.
