In spite of the increase in COVID-19 cases, Nigerian musician, Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley has come under forceful criticism for performing at a concert that recorded massive attendance in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
It was gathered that Naira Marley flew from Lagos to Abuja with Ex-BBNaija star, Kimoprah, despite the ban on interstate movement and flights.
The event which was meant to be a ‘drive-in-concert’ was held at the Jabi Lake Mall.
The musician was earlier arrested , in the month of june, for violating the lockdown rules by attending a house party organised by actress, Funke Akindele, and her husband Abdul Rasheed Bello.
He was later released after tendering a written apology to the Lagos State Government and an undertaking that he would henceforth comply with the government’s stay-at-home and social distancing directives; and that he would go into 14-day self-isolation, having attended a crowded birthday party.
However, Nigerians on social media have reacted to the current breach of the lockdown rules by the singer.
Deji Adeyanju said, “If Naira Marley gets away with this, all musicians should start doing concerts too and we should all disregard government directives and protocol on the COVID-19 pandemic.”
Ikenna Nzimora posted, “Naira Marley should be arrested, prosecuted and jailed”.
Another post, Aye Mojubar wrote, “Naira Marley had a concert in Abuja last night during a pandemic. There is actually something missing somewhere. If truly the youths are the hope of every nation, what’s your faith with this mindset?”
Woye posted on social media, “Please hadisirika investigate the domestic flight that brought Naira Marley to Abuja. Was the flight for humanitarian/pharmaceutical issues ,We need an explanation.”
Sir William posted on social media, “All the people who went to Naira Marley’s concert yesterday complained about lack of palliatives. They complained about Nigeria’s poor healthcare and reduced healthcare budget. But Naira Marley breaking state border rules to perform in Abuja. They turned up for the madness.”

So KimOprah hosted Naira Marley’s concert yesterday but will be wearing nose masks at BB-Naija reunion. Interesting

Naira Marley did it first with Funke Akindele. Sincere there was no stringent punishment for that I know he’ll repeat it, and voilà he did it again in Abuja overnight.
Lawless citizens, lawless govt, lawless nation.

I know Naira Marley stays in Lagos and not Abuja. How did he fly to Abuja when there’s still a travel ban in Nigeria?

Naira Marley didnt hold the concert in just any states in Nigeria but Abuja the Federal Capital where we have all the Government Parastatals that makes law, yet the concert went fine and nobody could stop it under this pandemic.
In my country, laws are made for the weak.
