The Nigerian Navy (NN) on Monday released the list of names of successful candidates for its Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) Course 24 Selection Exercise.
The Acting Director of Information, Naval Headquarters, Suleman Dahun, said this in a statement made available to journalists in Abuja.

“Successful candidates are to report at Nigerian Naval College Onne, Port Harcourt, on Wednesday, July 5.

“Candidates who fail to report by 12 p.m. on Sunday July 9 will not be accepted for the training.
“The NN also wishes to use this opportunity to remind the general public, especially interested able bodied young men and women to take advantage of the ongoing recruitment exercise,” he said.
Mr. Dahun said candidates who participated in the selection process from April 10 to April 28, should visit the NN website, www.joinnigeriannavy.com to check  the list.
Candidates are to come along with the originals and photocopies of their credentials, which should include birth certificate/declaration of age, letter of indigeneship, secondary school testimonials and certificates (WAEC/NECO/GCE), NYSC Discharge/Exemption Certificate. Any candidate who fails to present originals of the stated documents will not be accepted into the College. Candidates are to also come along with the following items:

1. Two pairs of white shorts.
2. Two pairs of white trousers.
3. Two white shirts (long sleeves).
4. Two pairs of white socks.
5. Two pairs of white canvas shoes.
6. One lounge suite (dark colour).
7. Two pairs of blue shorts and white round neck vests.
8. One pair of black trousers.
9. One belt (preferably black).
10. One pair of black cover shoes.
11. Black polish brushes, shaving kit and toiletries.
12. Two white bed sheets and pillow cases for 8 spring bed.
13. Four recent passport photographs (coloured).
14. Female candidates should come along with the following items in addition:
    1. Two pairs of trouser suits.
    2. Two lounge skirts.
    3. One pair of black low heeled cover shoes.
    4. Two pairs of black or blue short tights.

Candidates will not be allowed to receive visitors once taken on strength and will not be allowed to leave the College premises for the first three months of training. Candidates and their families/loved ones are to please note the above for strict compliance.
